How long does a trampoline last?

A trampoline can be a pretty expensive purchase. That's why it's good to know if a trampoline will last. Whether a trampoline will last long depends on a number of factors. Among other things, it depends on the quality you choose and how well you take care of your trampoline. A BERG trampoline is guaranteed to offer quality and will last a long time, but you can certainly extend the life of your trampoline. You can do this by ensuring proper maintenance, using a cover and storing it in winter, more on that further down this page.

At BERG, we have been making trampolines for over 20 years, with quality always being our guiding principle. In our development department, the trampolines are carefully designed and technically thought out. We devise and develop every component ourselves, so we can be sure it meets our quality requirements.

We use leading materials that we extensively test for longevity, think of a salt spray test that shows the effects of rust accelerating or our UV cabinet that can mimic the effects of years of sunlight within weeks. All our materials pass these tests with flying colours before we use them in our products.
In addition, we test everything for strength. During the development process, all components go through different stages, we start with a prototype, then make a test series and finally an 0-series. During all these stages, both individual components and the entire product are fully tested for strength, quality, comfort and function. With each series, we make improvements until the product meets all requirements. Only when everything is absolutely perfect do we start production, which also includes spot checks before delivery, so that our customers always receive a perfect product.

Warranty at BERG and replacing trampoline components

BERG trampolines are of high quality, and therefore you also receive a long warranty. The length of the warranty depends on the trampoline part and the model. It’s difficult to determine exactly how long our parts will last, but in general, the warranty table is a good guide for the minimum lifespan (in years) of each part. You can also register the trampoline on our website after purchase to get an additional 3-year warranty on the frame, which is a great bonus! For all models (except for the Favorit line), you receive a standard 10-year warranty on the trampoline frame. After registration on the website, you have 13 years of warranty on the frame. If, unfortunately, a trampoline part does break, you can replace it easily via the trampoline parts section on our website. This way, you can repair your trampoline and give it a second life, allowing you even more jumping fun.

As mentioned, this represents the minimum lifespan of the parts. With proper care and maintenance, the trampoline as a whole can last up to 10 years. Using a cover and storing it in winter can help extend its lifespan. Weather influences and the environment, however, can reduce lifespan; examples include UV radiation (from the sun), a humid (salty) environment, and fertilizers, which should be avoided where possible.

At BERG, we devote considerable time to optimizing and developing each component. Examples:

  • We use extra stitching as standard on crucial connections, such as between the jumping mat and the springs, or at the top and bottom edge of the safety net.
  • Our jumping mats are made from high-quality, solid, and carefully woven polypropylene threads. These provide sufficient airflow without compromising strength or lifespan.
  • Our paddings are made from high-quality materials. For example, in the Champion and Elite models, we use Knife Coated PVC. This production process creates a solid layer of PVC, making it more resistant to UV radiation. The Elite model even has an additional UV-resistant coating.
  • Our springs have resulted from years of development and testing. By understanding the technical properties, we can create springs that combine the best jumping comfort with high quality and strength.
  • Our frames endure extensive testing during development. Each trampoline is tested with up to 5 times the maximum user weight. For most trampolines, this means a test weight of 600 kilograms. Even under this weight, our trampolines remain unfazed.

So, if you still have doubts about purchasing a BERG trampoline, you don’t need to worry about its lifespan. BERG trampolines are of excellent quality. A great deal of attention goes into optimizing and developing the parts, as is evident from the warranty length on trampoline components. And if something does wear out or break after a certain period, you can reorder the specific part via our parts finder.
