The BERG Biky & MOOV balance bike, for 2 year olds and older

From when is a balance bike suitable for my child? A balance bike is suitable for children from 2 years of age, at this age many little ones are ready to start exploring the world on their balance bikes. Besides age, the child's height is a very important prerequisite to enjoy cruising on a balance bike. The BERG MOOV 10 balance bike is basically suitable from 2 years of age, depending on your child's height. From that age, most kids are ready to get on a balance bike.

Good for early development

A balance bike is an excellent choice in several ways if you are looking for a product that allows children to develop playfully in various aspects. First, a balance bike is ideally suited for gross motor and physical development and teaches the child balance and poise through play. After some practice, speed develops and the child learns to cope with this while estimating distance. It is therefore seen as a great intermediate step between a ride on car and a 'real' bike, where they have to pedal. The development a child goes through while playing with a balance bike will soon give them a head start when learning to ride a bike and they can often skip the step of cycling with stabilisers.

Balance bike from 2 years of age

The BERG balance bikes have a low entry and a saddle that you can adjust in height. This makes the BERG Biky or MOOV 10 very accessible and already suitable for children with a height of 85 cm to 120 cm. Toddlers reach this length approximately around the age of 2, of course the balance bike can still be used at 3 years of age until the age of approximately 5 years. So the great thing is, the balance bike can be used for a longer time! The saddle clamp can be easily operated by the supplied Allen key and is integrated into the frame. Really convenient as it allows you to easily adjust the height of the saddle. So if you're wondering when your child can ride a balance bike from BERG, it's roughly between the ages of 2 to 5 years (depending on height). See the table below for ages and lengths for each model.

Extremely light and durable material

The weight of a balance bike is extremely important. The lighter the balance bike is, the more controllable it is. This automatically makes it safer to use. This is due to the following: especially at a younger age, a heavier balance bike is harder to control, making it less safe. That's because every extra gram of weight you have to move and stop again counts. So basically, the lighter a balance bike is, the safer it is and therefore ensures more speed and fun. The BERG Biky is a balance bike from 2 years of age, made of ultra-light and durable magnesium, while the MOOV 10 is made from a sturdy and lightweight aluminium frame. A frame made of magnesium is almost not seen on other balance bikes in the market. You see many wooden balance bikes for1 year old and older or balance bikes made of metal, making them much heavier.
